Local guide, essential on the Kenyan tracks

Kenya counts 582,646 km2 and has more than 49 million inhabitants. The diversity of the landscape is characterized by e.g. the Rift Valley, a lowland surrounded by various mountain ranges and highlands. The Rift Valley counts several lakes such as Lake Naivasha, Lake Nakuru, Lake Baringo and Lake Bogoria. In and around these lakes you can see a lot of wildlife such as Hippos, Flamengo's and Zebras.

The most famous mountains in Kenya are Mount Kenya, Mount Eglon and Kilimanjaro. During our cycling trips, the trail crosses the foot of some of these mountains. In the north of Kenya, you will find a dry and hot desert landscape, it is a sparsely populated area with mainly nomads with their cattle and camels. This part of Kenya is not included in our cycling routes.

In the west of Kenya, near the Ugandan border is a fertile green landscape with a lot of agriculture and fishing. There is not much tourism in this part of Kenya. There is a tropical climate on the coast, it is humid and warm. The coast and the beaches of Mombasa, Lamu and Diani beach. The warm current of the Indian Ocean is ideal for swimming and snorkeling among the beautiful coral reefs.

In all this beautiful nature we will follow alternate tracks, our Kenyan guide will lead us on the best routes with the most impressive views and authentic villages. Kenya has 42 different tribes, all with their own tradition and customs. The best-known tribes are the Masai and the Samburu. Our guide knows the do's and don'ts that are very useful when traveling through the habitat of these tribes.
